Schritte was designed for HS and adult students. This is a textbook/workbook combination containing both lessons and exercises, and is comprised of six volumes with 60 hours per level. The goal is an immediate immersion of the students into everyday situations, followed by numerous comprehension and communication activities. Inter-cultural, interesting reading and listening stories are presented in a game format in each lesson. The book is accompanied by a CD which includes recordings of all exercises demanding pronunciation training. Upon completion, learners will have finished all the requirements for Start Deutsch 1 und 2 and Zertifikat Deutsch examinations.

THEMEN AKTUELL
The goal of this series is to promote active participation in everyday conversation. Included are texts to develop reading, writing, grammar, conversation and comprehension skills. Each of the 30 chapters launches a new concept, which include: food and drink, culture, school and work, entertainment, politics and more. The units all begin with contemporary color illustrations to introduce the lesson and the new vocabulary. Presented in a systematic progression, each chapter includes reviews to assess the students’ comprehension. The English/German bilingual workbook offers exercises in German and includes translations of vocabulary words, explanation of grammar rules and additional footnotes in English. The CD and cassettes offer additional listening and speaking exercises. When all three levels are completed, the students will be prepared for the Zertfikats Band. The teacher’s guide A contains directions for speaking exercises, answers and transcripts. Guide B covers grammar, geography and cultural information, suggestions for class use and tests.
